My Book for Sale

Dance First …ask questions later: poems & paintings by Shé is now available for purchase. The e-book includes more than 100 poems and 70 artworks spanning 45 of my hard-won years. To celebrate, I sang loudly and danced exuberantly along shore. Variations on the theme Hallelujah! rang through my brain throughout the day, including versions by George Frideric Handel, Quincy Jones, and Leonard Cohen. Celebrate good times, for sure.

Here’s a poem from the tome to whet your appetite:

Audience
I gave my poem to a homeless man
He asked me for money
flashed 2 quarters in his hand
bright new silver, Maryland
and Delaware
I gave him a poem
written for a dead friend

He thanked me
and repeated his plea
That's it, I said
just the poem
The light changed
and I crossed the street
neither of us the worse for wear
